Introduction
Sometimes it's necessary to adjust the vehicle that has been confirmed and handed off to a guest on a reservation. This article outlines the steps to follow when:
- this change needs to be made prior to the trip start date
- this change needs to occur after the trip has started
Vehicle Swap Prior to Trip Start

Navigate to the reservation page or quote page.

Click Edit in the top-right corner.

Go to the Vehicle dropdown menu.

Select the vehicle you’d like to change the reservation to. (Only vehicles available for the reservation's date range will be displayed.)

Choose whether to Update Price or Keep Current Price:
- Update Price: This will recalculate the rental price based on the new vehicle.
- Keep Current Price: This will keep the original rental price, even if the swapped vehicle has a higher or lower rental price.
Please note: The insurance price will automatically update based on the new vehicle’s rate chart, and this cannot be changed.

Click Save Changes to complete the vehicle swap.
Vehicle Swap After Trip Start
The most common reasons you might need to make a vehicle swap mid-trip include:
- when there is a vehicle malfunction
- when there is an accident and/or breakdown
- when the guest is dissatisfied and requests vehicle change
