What happens when an Outdoorsy guest cancels their trip?
Outdoorsy's cancellation policy
Outdoorsy.com guests are subject to your set Outdoorsy cancellation policy: strict, moderate, flexible
Outdoorsy's cancellation policies are:
Flexible cancellation policy
Free cancellation for 48 hours after booking, as long as it is canceled more than 14 days before the trip starts.
If the guest has paid in full and the booking is canceled more than five (5) days before the trip starts:
- Insurance is refunded
- 100% of the total booking amount is refunded
- The Outdoorsy service fee is not refunded
If the trip is canceled within five (5) days of it starting:
- Insurance is refunded
- 75% of the total booking amount is refunded
- The Outdoorsy service fee is not refunded
Moderate cancellation policy
Free cancellation for 48 hours after booking, as long as you cancel more than 14 days before the trip starts.
If the guest has paid in full and the booking is canceled on or more than seven (7) days prior to the booking's start date:
- Insurance is refunded
- 75% of the total booking amount is refunded
- The Outdoorsy service fee is not refunded
If the trip is canceled within seven (7) days of it starting:
- Insurance is refunded
- 50% of the total booking amount is refunded
- The Outdoorsy service fee is not refunded
Strict cancellation policy
Free cancellation for 48 hours after booking, as long as you cancel more than 14 days before the trip starts.
If the guest has paid in full and the booking is canceled more than 14 days before it starts:
- Insurance is refunded
- 50% of the total booking amount is refunded
- The Outdoorsy service fee is not refunded
If the trip is canceled within 14 days of it starting:
- Insurance is refunded
- 0% of the total booking amount is refunded
- The Outdoorsy service fee is not refunded
The Outdoorsy service fee is non-refundable, except in the event of a cancellation like the one described above or an owner cancellation.
All cancellation policy refund amounts are calculated from the total rental amount before fees, and not from the reservation deposit.
Grace Period
Guests can receive a full refund if they cancel within a 48 hour grace period. This grace period will only apply if both of the following statements are true:
- The guest cancels their trip within 48 hours of the booking being confirmed by the host and guest
- The guest cancels their trip more than 14 days from the start date
