Add-ons & Fees
From the Add-ons and Fees page, on the first tab called "Add-ons & Fees" select the blue button to add a new item.
The create a new add-on window will open that allows you to add details. This is where you'll want to create all of the add-ons that you may offer to your guests; bicycles, linen kits, appliances, etc.
Note: Daily Add-ons will charge daily vs. nightly on basis of whether you charge daily vs. nightly for rental rates.
-
Image: This helps give your guests a visual of what the add-on looks like.
-
Add-On Name: Give your add-on a recognizable name for your guests!
-
Description: Here you can add any details about this add-on for your guests.
-
Location: Attach your add-on to a specific location
-
Price: You can set the price of the Add-On as a percentage or a fixed amount for either a one time charge like extra linen or a daily charge like Wi-fi usage.
-
Quantity: Currently, the platform does not do inventory control so that will need to be maintained on your end.
However, if you show a quantity of 2 and the guest wants to book 3 of an item, the platform will not allow it -
Tax: if you need to apply tax to your add on, select a tax rate here. If you do not see a tax rate, set one up under your tax rate account setting.
-
Add-on Options: Next you have the ability to Hide or set a Daily Add-On. No selection means it is a one time add on option.
A hidden Add-On would be only available to be selected by you and not the guest. A good example would be an excess cleaning fee that you might need to use in some cases. -
Applies to these rental types: You can then select which types of RV's will this Add-On apply. By not selecting a specific type of unit the Add-On will apply to all.
-
Position: You can give your Add-Ons position numbers starting with 0 which will be the Add-On on the top. It will not only rearrange the add-ons list on your Wheelbase dashboard but also the list for the guests on the online booking checkout iframe.
-
Travelers: This will show how many guests/ travelers can use the Add-On. For example, if you include a camping table, let your guests know for how many people that camping table is for.
-
Consigned Owners: If you are sharing certain Add-Ons with consigned owners you can set up a split for this Add-On to share the revenue from this Add-On with the vehicle owner.
Mileage & Generator:
Create your tiered mileage charges, as well as your hourly charges for generator usage. Once you select "Milage & Generator" at the top of the screen, you will be given the option to add a "new fee". Note: Once you create a mileage fee, you must apply it to all vehicles you wish to charge the fee for.
State Fee:
If your state requires a daily tax for vehicle rentals, add it here. Guests will see it as a separate line item during checkout and on their booking receipt.
Notes to Guests
Notes to Guests appear on your Wheelbase and Outdoorsy listings, so you can share anything you’d like someone to know before renting your vehicle(s). Guests also see these during checkout, on their booking quote and, once they book a vehicle, on their rental receipts and renter dashboard.
Delivery
Delivery fees can be applied to any vehicle - they allow you to charge guests based on set pricing tiers.
Once you have created a delivery fee, the fee must be attached to the vehicle. You do this on the Vehicle's menu under the prices tab. Similar to a mileage fee, you can setup a tiered pricing structure.
Prep Fee:
In the event that you have a mandatory cleaning fee; you will want to set this up under your Prep Fee and not here because all Add-ons are optional.
