Introduction
What is the insurance deductible for a claim using Wheelbase insurance?
The Wheelbase deductible is always 2% of the stated replacement value; with a minimum of $500 and a maximum of $1,500.
Example:
-
A unit with a replacement value of $80,000: 2% of $80,000 = $1,600 The insurance deductible for this unit would be $1,500
-
A unit with a replacement value of $50,000: 2% of $50,000 = $1,000 The insurance deductible for this unit would be $1,000
-
A unit with a replacement value of $24,000: 2% of $24,000 = $480 The insurance deductible for this unit would be $500
If no replacement value is entered into your Wheelbase account for that vehicle, the insurance deductible will default to the maximum.
Claim payments are issued less the applicable deductible amount. The Wheelbase account holder is responsible for collecting the guests's deductible along with any overages or ancillary fees.
Outdoorsy guest deductible
- Outdoorsy.com guests may have a deductible that differs from the Wheelbase deductible you have in place (on the basis of Protection Package they have selected)
- If the Outdoorsy.com guest’s deductible is lower than the 2% Wheelbase deductible, then we will default to the lower deductible amount.
Example: if the Wheelbase deductible is $1500 and the Outdoorsy renter’s deductible is $1000, you as the dealer would then collect only $1,000 from the renter and Outdoorsy will issue the settlement to you less this amount.
- If the Outdoorsy.com renter's deductible is higher than the 2% Wheelbase deductible, you as the dealer would then collect the lower of those two amounts.
Example: if the Wheelbase deductible is $1000 and the Outdoorsy renter books with 'Essential' coverage (@ deductible of $1500), you as the dealer would collect $1000. Outdoorsy would then process the additional $500 directly from the renter, and issue settlement to you less the $1000 collected.
