Introduction
Customize questions that you want to ask guests during the checkout process.
Checkout question can me managed and set from your account settings. Those question will apply to all your rentals. The second option is to set checkout questions on a vehicle basis. We will go through both options in this article.
Account checkout questions
From your Wheelbase dashboard, go to
- Account Settings > Checkout Questions
- Add a question by selecting one of the buttons "Short Answer", "Long Answer", "Multiple Question"
- A free Question field will show up on the checkout page where you now can enter your question, optional a longer description of your question and depending on the question multiple choice selection.
- If you select "Multiple Question", set up multiple answer options
- Select if the question is required or optional. The guest cannot proceed through the booking process if they don't answer a required questions. They can skip optional questions.
- Select the Save Changes button
Account question will get ask to your guest during the booking process online. If you create and confirm a booking on your wheelbase dashboard, the guest will not be able to see or answer the questions because they don't go through the checkout flow. You would need to get this information directly form your guest.
You can add as many questions as you want but for a smooth booking experience we recommend no more than three questions.
Vehicle checkout questions
From your Wheelbase dashboard, go to
- Vehicles > Select a vehicle by clicking the name > select tab Checkout Questions
- Add a question by selecting one of the buttons "Short Answer", "Long Answer", "Multiple Choice"
- A free question field will show up, where you can enter your question, optional a longer description of your question and depending on the question multiple choice selection.
- If you select "Multiple Choice", set up multiple answer options
- Select if the question is required or optional. The guest cannot proceed through the booking process if they don't answer a required questions. They can skip optional questions.
- Select the Save Changes button
Vehicle questions will get ask during the booking process online to guests that book this particular vehicle. Keep in mind that Account questions will show up for all vehicles. So if you have account checkout questions and vehicle checkout questions set up the checkout will show both.
Things to look out for

Keep in mind that Account checkout questions will show up for all vehicles. Vehicle checkout questions will show up only for one vehicle. If you have account checkout questions and vehicle checkout questions set up the system will show both to the renter. The vehicle questions are in addition to the account checkout questions.
